BOUQUET

The wintery evergreen canopy groans  bowing low over harlequin shadows Ravenous winds transform branches to twigs Limbs become splinters- Ghosts in the snow Slow motion Luna ascends to the throne reigning over his December kingdom Behold his magnificent ransoms of dreams- And icicle crystals befitting his queen DESIRED CONSTRAINTS Friday, December 30, 2016 SOFTER By morning light glimmer, the canvas spreads wide The pallet knife textures with soft cotton clouds Sounds of deep Winter resound all around The evergreens whisper- "Remember" Blend her complexion from porcelain hues Baby blue irises- Silent and wise Lips slightly parted, the shape of a heart Softer than lanolin- Rinsed by the hearth Intricate patterns of linen and lace- The delicate waist tied with ribbon Crimson and blue- Effusions of light, like the eyes of a child counting stars by the fire Jo Dowling at 11:26 PM Share    › Home View web version About Me Jo Dowling ...

SOFTER

By morning light glimmer, the canvas spreads wide The pallet knife textures with soft cotton clouds Sounds of deep Winter resound all around The evergreens whisper- "Remember" Blend her complexion from porcelain hues Baby blue irises- Silent and wise Lips slightly parted, the shape of a heart Softer than lanolin- Rinsed by the hearth Intricate patterns of linen and lace- The delicate waist tied with ribbon Crimson and blue- Effusions of light, like the eyes of a child counting stars by the fire
I RECALL THE MACABRE Black gum tree's silhouette gestures come sit The black gum is grieving He's seeking release Demonic monstrums discuss resurrection They lead the procession to bury their dead In forests and meadows, the hard woods uproot- I recall the macabre wearing december suits Spiderweb shrowds hide the axe scars and nail holes They slowly assemble in shadows They honor the foliage- Life strewn in the wind I recall the macabre- Mourning children and kin

PETAL

Such a delicate flower- Renowned for her scent Her elegance stimulates ardor In torrential showers, her petals may fall but her powerful scent will survive in the wind Her stem may be severed Her thorns ripped away, But the scent of the delicate flower remains
Gregarious zealot stands witness by fault-- Altered recall compensated Sated desires lie fat on the plate for the maggots and rodents to savor The grave digger salivates-- Dinner awaits Hunger abates- When the witness is paid
The sadness of chains- Desired constraints are the price I must pay- Emotional tangles Hateful, Inflamed Straight razor nicks will require medication Taste the elixer It burns to the bone Open, say ah- show us your tongue Poison will glow in the light of the sun Jo Dowling
