I RECALL THE MACABRE

Black gum tree's silhouette gestures come sit
The black gum is grieving
He's seeking release

Demonic monstrums discuss resurrection
They lead the procession to bury their dead
In forests and meadows, the hard woods uproot-
I recall the macabre wearing december suits

Spiderweb shrowds hide the axe scars and nail holes
They slowly assemble in shadows
They honor the foliage-
Life strewn in the wind

I recall the macabre-
Mourning children and kin
